the key to mastery (8V)

Mastery: comprehensive knowledge or skill in a subject or accomplishment
Mastery (own): Becoming better then average at a skill

In the past readings for inquiry assignments we have read about the 10,000-hour rule. The 10000-hour rule states that no one will truly master anything until they have practiced for 10000 hours. 10000 hours of practice ads up to 10 years. I personally believe that this is true because I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old and to this day I believe that I can always improve my skills. Mastering something is when you are the best you can be at something. I believe that no one is perfect but it does take 10 years of hard work and dedication to master something.

One new word I learned this week was kinematic movement.  Kinematic is the branch of classical mechanics, which describes the motion of points, bodies and systems of bodies without consideration of the causes of motion. I learned this word in my intro to athletic training class. I need to know this word so that I am able to learn the different types of kinematic movements so that I am able to evaluate my clients and see what injury they are having.

A second word that I have learned this week is component. Component is a constituent element, as of a system. I also learned this word in my intro to athletic training class. I need to know this word so that I am able to define and realize what component is in what organ system.
