Creativity: is a phenomenon whereby something new and
valuable is created
Creativity (own): is using your mind and looking at
something in a different way
In this weeks inquiry readings we spoke about creativity and
how it affects ones ability to learn. I believe that being creative improves
someone’s learning ability.If you do
not have a creative mind you wont be able to step out of the box and take
risks. Creativity is about standing out
Muse: A source of
inspiration
Pseudoarhtrosis: is a fracture that has not united in the
stipulated time in which such fractures usually unite and has no chance of
union without intervention.
Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things. - Steve Jobs
#29 My greatest fear is never being able to play sports ever
again. I am scarred that the doctor is going to tell me that I have to stop
playing sports because of my compartment syndrome and I know I will not be able
to give that up. Sports have been such an important part of my life. Sports
have made me who I am today and I am not ready to give that up yet. Being an
athlete has made me the dedicated and self-motivated person I am today and my
coaches and teammates are apart of a family that I will never forget about.
#26 when I work I love the result but I enjoy the process
because knowing what I have over came and how hard I worked for the result
feels even better knowing that I had to work for it and the feeling wouldn’t be
the same if I didn’t have to go through a process and was just handed it to me.
I feel better about myself knowing that I overcame a difficult task.. For
example I feel better about my self being able to push myself and run three
miles and not just the result of how in shape I will be.
#20 someone that really inspires me is my softball coach
Frank and his wife Gina Lieneck. Frank and Gina have two daughters Danyelle and
Brianna. The family took their boat out one afternoon in 2005 and was hit by
another man driving his boat intoxicated. All of the family members except
Danyelle were thrown into the water unconscious and Danyelle saved her mom and
dad by pulling them out of the water and onto the boat. Unfortunately Brianna
was hit straight on by the boat and was immediately dead. Brianna was a 12-year-old
softball player who did not deserve for her life to end so early. Frank and
Gina both inspire me so much because even though they don’t have a daughter who
plays softball anymore they still coach a competitive softball team and run an
indoor softball arena. It must be hard watching the girls on the field knowing
that Brianna should be out their also but they do it because they love it and
they know it would make Brianna happy. Our softball team dedicates every game
to Brianna and even to this day as I am in college I play in memory of Brianna.
This family does everything for everyone and they worked so hard to pass the
law that states that driving a boat under any influence should be illegal the
law was finally passed and they named it “Brianna’s law”.
My midterm
video project was on the athletic training program. I decided to video tape the
athletic trainers in the Moore Field House athletic training room helping
injured athletes. I videotaped myself to try and make it come from a personal
point of view. It was hard to videotape myself doing the exercises so I
videotaped other athletes who did the same exercises as myself.
I believed
I fulfilled the requirements of the topic greatly. My video time was 5 minutes
and 31 seconds. I didn’t want to make the video too long and have my midterm
drag out but I also didn’t want to make my video too short so that I couldn’t
put all the information I needed into my video. I have 3 students of all
different ages in my video, Jaime is a sophomore, Lauren is a freshman and
Julie is a senior who is soon to graduate with her athletic training degree. I
also videotaped 1 professor so that the audience watching my video could get
the perspective from a professor’s point of view.
I believed
that I had a very well put together beginning and middle. In the beginning I
stated what I was talking about then showed myself walking from the dorm to the
Moore Field House. I did this to inform everyone watching my video how to get
there but also to lead them to what I am about to talk about. The only thing I
wish I did better with my beginning was not have my hand as shaky and not have
video taped myself walking their at 6am so that people would be able to see
where I was. The beginning I spoke about the exercises I did and why I did
them. I threw some video interviews in the middle to not allow my audience to
get bored or feel that they are only watching myself get fixed. That is why I
videotaped Jaime and Lauren two injured softball players who spoke about their
injuries and how they were able to fix their injuries. The end of my video
could have been better put together. The only thing I had for my ending was my
athletic training professor’s interview and a soon to be athletic trainer. I
put them at the end of my video to talk about their feelings about athletic
training and their personal experiences with it. If I could add to this video I
would put at the end of my video the athletic training door closing in slow
motion while zooming in to the sign on the door that says athletic training
room instead of just the title slide I made that says “The End”.
I think I
got the video done in a good amount of time with the dilemma I had in the
athletic training room with the video tapping and I also had to switch
computers so that I was able to use iMovie. IMovie was a little confusing to
use at first but after I played around with it a little bit it was extremely
easy to use. I think I told the story very well and kept everyone informed and
interested also. I had the video and then explained in text what I was doing
either before or after the clip was being shown to help the views know what is occurring.
I believe
that I should receive an A on this project. I believe that I followed all the requirements,
had a good time for my video and I handed it in on time. The only thing that I think
is preventing my from getting an A+ is I can’t tell if I kept my viewers
interested. I was interested in my video but that’s because that is the job I want
to do for the rest of my life. It was difficult to try and keep them interested
in something they probably aren’t interested in because if they were they would
be majoring in athletic training. So I put two up beat songs that I know always
make me happy and bright colors in my text to try and keep the viewers
entertained and wanting to keep watching.
The fitness center is located in the student center; it is on
the very top floor. The cost of the fitness center is $60.00 a semester and
$25.00 for the summer. They not only have multiple machines but that offer
classes.There classes are included in
your $60.00 fee and they have everything from Yoga to Zumba to Cycling classes.
There is also a 7-day free pass so you can go try out the fitness center before
actually signing up for it. I did the 7-day pass and found the gym to be a
great place to workout and stay healthy. Their classes were intense but you
really felt great after them.
Critical Thinking: Critical
thinking is a tool by which one can come about reasoned conclusions based on a
reasoned process.
Critical Thinking (own): Is the ability to take something
look at it in a different way and then apply it.
Critical Thinking is used to be able to change something. I
have needed to look at many different things and change the ways that I have
used to do them. For example study and my school work. I have needed to work
harder in school and study longer then I have in high school.
Two new words I have learned are chondromalacia and
cephalalgia. I learned both these words in my Exercise Science class.
Chondromalacia is when your fibula and the cartledge in your knee rub against
each other. Cephalalgia is the medical term for a headache.
