I am a player on the southern connecticut state university
womens softball team. We participate in many different service projects all
year. We just recently participated in the special Olympics. I do realize that
it was not on campus but because of softball I honestly do not have time to
take place in any service work occurring on campus. We are also participating
in a walk for liver cancer this Sunday and many different service works all
year. Working with and helping all the kids who are unfortunately have problems
was a great feeling. They all won a prize and awarding them with a medal and
seeing how happy they all got was a image I wont ever forget. They felt proud
of themselves and special. The team helped with different skills for softball.
We had a hitting, running, ground balls and a station to see who could throw
the farthest. After the skills they had games where we would announce their
names through a mega phone and keep the score. As we said their name through a
mega phone and cheered for them seeing them smile was heart warming.
