Delayed Gratification: Delay gratification is the ability to resist the temptation for an
immediate reward and wait for a later reward.
Delayed
Gratification (own): to not do something you want knowing you will get a reward
for it after
Delayed Gratification
relates to the readings for this week because during the marshmallow test the
kids had to resist eating the marshmallow for 15 minutes in result to getting a
second marshmallow for the children to eat both.
One new word that I
learned this week in my MDS 101 class is the word pathos. It means a form of
proof that appeals to the audience’s emotions. This word relates to the class
because we use it to help persuade people to buy their products buy using
media.
Also in my MDS 101 class I learning about semiotics.
Semiotics is the theory of meaning of signs and symbols. This is used in Nike
ads. Instead of having the word Nike the swoosh symbol could just show up on
something and everyone will know that it is Nike.
