How would shorter school no hw and no tests change children ? (12B)

Coming into southern Connecticut I did not know what a liberal arts education was. I always heard people saying that word but never actually knew what it meant. From the past readings for this week I have learned that liberal arts is basic education. Liberal is progressive and conservative is traditional. In result of taking liberal arts classes you take classes that you wouldn’t normally choose and that don’t have anything to do with your major. The positives of taking liberal arts classes are that you gain personal growth and new experiences.
Questions:
1) Why does liberal arts education benefit you?
2) What qualities do employers seek in college grades?
3) Does our mind enrich society, not our careers?
4) How would shorter school, no homework and no tests change children?
- In result of having shorter school days students will be able to pay more attention. They will be able to do this because students will not have as much time to daydream and wander off in a shorter school hour. Their attention spans won’t be as bad because the school day is shorter and the classes will be shorter. The students will not have to pay attention for as long but since they wont wander off and not pay attention the teachers will be able to go at a faster pace since everyone is paying attention. You need to have tests or else students wont value their education or won’t strive to do well and will not do anything in class which will result in a lack of being educated. Also if you do not give students homework they will not be motivated. They will not be able to set goals for themselves to let them do well. They also will have no reason to pay attention in their classes so they will just show up.
