Investment vs Innovation vs Motivation (14V)
Investment: investment
is the accumulation of newly produced physical entities, such as factories,
machinery, houses, and goods inventories.
Investment
(own): putting time in to be able to work for something
Last week in
our inquiry class we had a group discussion whether investment, innovation or
motivation is more important. I believe that investment is very important
because you have put a lot of time into something you will be able to succeed
but I do believe that motivation is more important because I need to be
motivated to be able to invest the time needed to work hard and become
successful.
My Own Room In The Library (14I)
A quiet place that I like to do my homework and
study is the library. In the library you are able to rent out a room that has a
white board that I like to do my math homework in. It is quiet and the room is
all to myself. The rooms are located on the second floor of the library and if
you go to the front desk they will assign you to a room. You need to sign up
for a room in advance and more then one person is allowed in a room so if you
want to work in a group you are able to all go into the same room.
Stress Reliever (14A)
In order to relieve some stress I have gotten all my
homework and projects done that are due when I get back from break before I left
to go home. It feels good knowing that I
have my work done and wont spend my entire break doing work. School hasn’t been
stressing me out as much as knowing about all my health issues that I spoke
about in blog 14B. I hope that being with my friends and family who I haven’t seen
in a long time will help me take my mind off of it.
My friends
are my greatest stress reliever. They always know how to make me laugh and make
me happy. I have not told them about my health issues yet because I am nervous
as to how they are going to react. I am hoping that in result of telling them
what is going on with me will make me less stressed because I know that they
are going to be there for me.
In order to
not overwhelm myself with studying but still prepare myself for finals I am
going to study everyday but twice a day at shorter hours rather then one large
hour. This way I am able to study in the morning and at dinnertime. This will
leave the day for me to spend time with my family and then at night to have fun
with my friends but still get good grades on my finals.
I will not
do any homework on thanksgiving so I will be able to relax and spend time with
my family and friends. I need a break to just be able to relax and not have to
worry about anything, I will take that day to realize what I am grateful for
and see everyone who I have missed.
Living With Lupus (14B)
In the past couple of weeks I have found out that I am ill.
I have lupus, which is an autoimmune disease, and the doctors also have found
two large tumors in my thyroid. They are not sure if they are cancerous or not
and I need to have multiple testing done during my winter break to find out if
they are or not. Not only do I need to get testing done for my thyroid but also
for my lupus at the same time. During thanksgiving break I will be planning my
surgery date to fix my compartment syndrome in my legs. The surgery will
hopefully take place during my winter break as well.
I am
thankful to have such great doctors that I know will take very good care of me.
I know that I will be back to 100% and that no matter what the doctors are
going to do the best they can do. I am also thankful to have such great family.
We live two hours away from Southern Connecticut and they drive here every
weekend to take me to the doctor. They are very supportive and they’re for me
during this rough patch that I am going through. I couldn’t thank them enough
for everything they have done for me in my first semester here at college along
with all my other years that they were there for me.
My cross
fit gym is making t-shirts for me because of my lupus and are trying to have a competition
dedicated to me and help raise money for lupus awareness. They wear the
t-shirts every competition and they say a prayer for me every day. My older
brother is the one who is most supportive of it. He is my best friend and has
been supportive of me in everything I do. He is the one who is trying to make
the competition for me and to raise money for lupus awareness. This makes me so
grateful for all the great people in my life and things that I have access to
unlike other people in different countries.

Gary Morin Athletic Training (13I)
I visited Gary Morin who is the assistant athletic trainer
here at southern Connecticut state university. He is also the director of the
athletic training education. His phone number is 203-392-6089 and his email is moring1@southernct.edu. His office is located
in the basement of Pelz. His cubical is the last one on the left side. Gary
happens to be my advisor and we spoke about what classes I will have to take in
order to become an athletic trainer. We also spoke about what classes I can
take in the summer that the credits will transfer back to southern.
